Questions, answered.
Everything below is written by the person who made your bag. If it's not here, write to me.
How long does it take to get my bag?
Because I cut it after you order it. Nothing sits in a warehouse. Once you place your order during an Order Week, allow roughly a week and a half from the order date for it to ship. If you need it sooner, write to me — sometimes I have one on the bench.
Can I see it before it ships?
Yes, you just have to message me with your order number and I'll email a photo of your finished bag, engraving included, before it's boxed.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, four interest-free instalments at checkout through the payment provider. No credit check for the standard plan.
Is the leather real full-grain?
Yes, 2.2 mm vegetable-tanned full-grain or Full-grain oiled leather. Not 'genuine leather', not top-grain, not bonded. The grain you see is the animal's skin, scars and all.
How does the removable lining work?
The lining attaches with Velcro on all four sides. Simply pull it free, and the entire interior lifts out as one structured piece. Five seconds. No tools.
How do I wash it?
Hand wash with mild soap and cold water. Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry, as this may affect the lining’s structure.
Can I use the bag with no lining at all?
Yes. The interior is fully finished, so the bag can be used without the lining. Some people prefer the raw leather interior. The lining is for protection, not structure.
What does shipping cost?
Free in Canada and the US on orders over $200. Under that, $20 flat, tracked. Everything ships tracked, no exceptions.
How long does delivery take?
5-7 business days across Canada and the US once it ships. Remember made-to-order pieces need time on the bench first.
What's the return policy?
Because personalized pieces are made specifically for you, custom and embossed bags are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.
Do you ship outside Canada and the US?
Case by case, write to me with your country and I'll quote the real cost. Duties are on you, and I won't mark a $400 bag as a $20 gift.
How do I care for the leather?
Avoid prolonged exposure to water or direct sunlight. Clean with a soft damp cloth, and condition the leather twice a year with a leather conditioner, more often if it lives outside. If it gets wet, dry it slowly, away from heat.
It got scratched — is that normal?
Yes, and that’s the beauty of full-grain leather. It will scratch, darken, and soften with use. Rub a scratch with your thumb and watch it begin to blend. Over time, these marks develop into a rich patina, giving every bag its own unique character.
What can be engraved?
Initials or a name, up to 5 letters (A–Z, no numbers or symbols), stamped by hand. Free on every piece. You choose the placement when you order: top left, top right, top middle, or the top of the front pocket.
Do you take full custom commissions?
A handful each season. A different size, a different leather, a piece that doesn't exist yet. Tell me the story through the contact page and I'll tell you if I can do it justice — and what it would cost.
How does approval work for custom pieces?
You get a mockup before the stamp touches leather, and a photo of the finished piece before it ships. You approve both. No surprises.
Who makes your bags?
I do, with my own hands. I'm the designer and the bag maker, and everything is handmade in Montreal, Canada.
Still unsure?
Ask me and I'll answer honestly — even if the answer is “this isn't the right bag for you.”
